Deepest Cliff

I remember one day
walking up to a cliff
I stood very brave on the edge
and looked down
unable to see the bottom was I
for it was hidden in the shadows
fearing for my life I backed up
just a step or two but looking around myself
I saw nothing better
Just barren land and cloudless sky
So I ran
and leapt
off the cliff
I braced for impact
I was ready for death
I was ready for pain
but it never came
it was then I realized
that this cliff has no bottom
It’s just the eternal ride
that makes the heart beat faster
palms sweat
lips dry they say that love is suicide
they’re right
But one can’t die when the fall lasts forever
