The Day the Sky Cried

One fine spring day
the sky cried
large drops fast and furious
all the plants wept
shedding their precious water
the animals moaned and groaned
in an orchestra of misery
all the buildings wailed
at the great misfortune
and the clouds hung low with despair
but the people shed not a tear
for all but the people knew
for all but the people cared
about the pain, the misery within me.
